Green Tea has numerous overall health benefits like:-

So you heard it right, there are a lots of health benefits of Green Tea but The question is still the same
Is it really helpful in terms of fatloss?, the answer is Yes😳😳…..
But there is catch, it will give you practical results in your fatloss journey ..NO🤭
Let’s find out what is the actual reason behind it.
As we have read earlier….we know that Green Tea is rich in Antioxidant
The Antioxidant in green Tea is known as Catechins.
Basically there are 4 Green Tea catechins.
- Epigallo catechingallate(EGCG).
After reading these terms you will be like:

Basically EGCG plays the main role behind fatloss through Green tea.
Generally to burn fat , stored fat must be released from the fat cells into bloodstreams to be used as energy….known as fat Breakdown.
EGCG basically inhibits COMT, an enzyme that degrades noradrenaline and noradrenaline is the hormone which regulates fat Breakdown.
In simple words you can say EGCG indirectly promotes fat breakdown.
Now we move into the second ingredient which present in green tea and help in fat loss ….is Caffeine.
Caffeine is well proven stimulant which can increase your energy expenditure and also directly increase the production of noradrenaline.
So according to the researches:-
- On consuming 300mg of caffeine can burn upto 50 extra calories each day
- Consuming 500mg of EGCG can burn uto 50 extra calories per day
And on consuming a cup of green tea gives you hardly 50mg of each ( EGCG and caffeine).
So if you drink 2 cups of Green Tea daily it will burn around 80- 100 calories per day ….and it is not a big number.
This number will also go down with time because Caffeine will only work if you are not a habitual drinker because it is highly adaptive to our body.
Now we will move into the conclusion Green Tea can give you a numerous health benefits but it will not help you practically in terms of fatloss.
Drinking 2 cups of Green Tea daily will give you overall good health but if your main goal is fatloss or you are on a cutting cycle you must be more focus on creating a net caloric deficit through your diet and focus on your training plan.
